My hair obsessed beauties…. this post is for you!
When I first learned how to braid my hair, I was always upset because I would see these girls with these giant braids and think… How in the world did they do that or they must have the thickest head of hair ever! It turns out after lots of trial & error most of the girls you see with the braids you love have about the same amount of hair as you do. You’re probably thinking ok? So if that’s true what are the secrets? Don’t worry I will be sharing all of my favorite braid tricks.
Tip One: Hair extensions! Adding in hair extensions is going to give you extra length and thickness so your braid is going to look epicly big! My fave extensions right now are from Bellami. You can find them here —> HAIR EXTENSIONS
Tip Two: Always always pull apart your braids. By pulling them apart you give them more apparent width. While you can pull all over for a little extra width, to get a really full-looking braid make sure and focus on pulling on the outside. Don’t pull too much though. If you pull too much you will get more hair falling out like you can see in my picture above. find a good balance!
Tip Three: Always leave a few inches of hair at the end of your hair and try not to tie off your braid before pulling it apart if possible. Instead of tying it off, hold it in one hand while you use the other hand to pull your braid apart. If you braid it all the way to the end of your hair and then start pulling you will pull parts of the ends up through your ponytail.
Tip Four: Use hairspray BEFORE you start pulling your braid apart. Spraying it before will help keep baby hair or fuzzies down and keep your hair looking more smooth.
Tip Five: If you want a REALLY HUGE/editorial looking braid or you have really thin and fine hair try using a volumizing powder. I use the puff me powder you can find here —> PUFF ME but any brand does pretty much the same thing. The powder works by making your hair a bit stickier so it can’t slip out as you pull on it.
