Here’s the deal….
I have a serious addiction to makeup ha ha. Ask anyone who knows me and has seen my studio and they will tell you it’s a little crazy. As a working makeup artist I am constantly on the hunt for the best products. Wear time, pigment quality and cost are HUGE factors to me. I am 100% on board for spending a pretty penny on certain products. I feel like after years of experience there are some products like foundation that if you want the best it’s a good idea to invest in a really great one!
On the other hand though I feel like there are other areas you can save a buck or two and still get a great product with high quality. Today I wanted to show you some of my favorite budget friendly beauty items. These are all tried and true! I love them all and would recommend them to everyone. I know some makeup artists cringe at the word drug store! They won’t put anything on their face that isn’t designer or “name brand” which is cool but for me, I love finding awesome new treasures to add to my personal collection that I know others can afford. You can find these items at your local target, walmart or walgreens.
First up are the Loreal Infallible eyeshadows.
These are SO creamy and also really pigmented. I love using the matte skin tone color to set my eyelids after priming and then adding a pop of color on my lid with the shimmers. Colors from Left to right are: Amber Rush, Always Pearly Pink, Endless Pearl
This was such a random find! A good eyelash curler is a must, so when I found this guy I was in love. I have been through many eye lash curlers and some just down right stink…. They either don’t have enough spring to actually curl your lashes or they rip them right out. Be careful when using an eyelash curler! I have seen many lash casualties ha ha. Anyway I found this one walking through Bed Bath and Beyond. Yes I know, random. I was just walking around with my family in the beauty section and there it was just staring at me. I tried the grip and it was pretty amazing and at $4.99 it was a no brainer. Seriously this is THE BEST eyelash curler I have ever owned. I am going back to buy a couple more just in case they discontinue them anytime soon.
NYX Pore Filler is one of my all time favorites. It’s a silicon based primer that really helps extend the wear of your foundation. It helps fill in any large pores and leaves your face feeling velvety smooth. I can totally tell when I take the extra second to apply primer before my foundation. The finish is much smoother and my makeup lasts all day instead of rubbing off everywhere.
This just so happens to be my favorite lip combo at the moment. Drugstore lip products are where it’s at in my opinion. I have a million friends who sell lipsense which is great! I love supporting my friends and all their endeavors but for me I like to change up my lippies too much to pay that kind of money for one color. The Loreal Infallible lipstick in 112 paired with the Infallible 8 HR pro gloss is a match made in heaven. Both are so buttery smooth and the gloss leaves the prettiest coat of shimmer on the lips without feeling sticky and heavy. Both important things when you are kissin on your babies and hubby throughout the day.
Drugstore eyeliner has always been a tricky one for me. I haven’t had any I have loved or recommend until I found this Sonia Kashuk one from Target. I am obsessed with felt tip liners. They are quick, easy, super pigmented and they dry quick! P.S. getting the perfect wing with felt tips is so much easier then any other kind of liner in my opinion. These liner is flexible, yet stiff enough to give you a nice smooth line.
Brushes are also another thing I can be stingy on. Good quality brushes are just as important as the makeup you put on your face. If the bristles are too stiff, your product won’t blend. If they are real hair you may find your brushes shed much more often. I love these flat eyeshadow brushes from FLOWER. They are synthetic so they are easy to clean and super dense, which means I can pack on a lot of product.
Last but not lease is the skin renew concealer from Garnier. This little guy works wonders on dark under eyes! It is super light weight and it has caffeine in it so it helps plump up those bags when you’re sleep deprived. It’s full coverage and blends like a dream, the yellow undertone helps to cancel out any blueness and brightens your under eye area so well. I use this every single day, under my foundation. TIP….. When you are using a correcting concealer, you want to make sure and put it UNDER your foundation and before you apply regular concealer. Correct first then conceal. If not, the area can start to look muddy and the darkness will more then likely come through!
I hope you enjoyed my favorite Budget Friendly Beauty Items… If you are looking for something new try one of these and let me know what you think, or if you have any favorites please share! Thanks so much for stoping by and I hope you have a B.eautiful day.
