Today’s blog post if you couldn’t tell by the title is going to be all about the best and cheapest facial exfoliant ever. I will be telling you why I suggest it to all my brides, brides, friends and how I make it at home. If there is one tip I could give every single person in the world for bright and fresh looking skin it would be to exfoliate!
I exfoliate at least 2x a week. Now that number will depend on what type of exfoliant you are using. If you use a more intense and abrasive scrub you may only want to use it once a week to avoid damaging your skin.
Real quick… Before we get into what my favorite exfoliant is I wanted to give you some reasons why all of us should be exfoliating.
- Softer Skin
- Stimulate Cell Turnover
- Help Prevent Acne
- Brighten Your Complexion
- Prep Your Skin For Makeup Application
Without further ado… The absolute BEST facial exfoliant, in my opinion, is the affordable and awesome BAKING SODA!
Are you surprised? I know when I first tried it my hopes weren’t too high but after I used it once I was hooked. Now it is my go to and I recommend it to EVERYONE.
The grit is so fine that you can use it multiple times a week without damaging your skin. Have you ever used a face scrub and finished with cuts all over? I have! I get a little aggressive haha I love scrubbing hard and getting as much dead skin off as I can. If you like to exfoliate a lot, you will love being able to scrub as hard as you want without your skin feeling chapped after.
So how exactly do you use baking soda to exfoliate?
Answer: Its so simple you won’t believe it. Take a heaping TBSP of baking soda and add drops of water until you make a paste. Start scrubbing your face in upward motions. I usually go over my entire face twice then rinse off with warm water and pat skin dry and moisturize as usual.
I really want to hear if you guys have tried this before or if you haven’t please do and let me know how it goes.
