With the new year here and so much going on in my business I really wanted to start off by introducing myself to those who may not know me yet…
My name is Brennan but you can call me B. <3 I am a twenty something year old wife & a mama to two of the sweetest little girls ever! I am a lover of braids, love, eyelashes and basically anything that sparkles ha ha.
Here are a couple of fun facts about me:
* Sometimes I forget what I am saying mid sentence…. Just like DORI off of finding nemo
* I think I am funny, but when I tell a joke I am usually the only one laughing
* I am easily distracted by sparkly things
* I am obsessed with my job
* My hubby and I are high school sweethearts
* My favorite food is toast or anything to do with bread
I get asked all the time how I started doing what I do so I thought I would give a little back story of how I got started. Well I started at college getting my degree but when I got done with my associates I realized pretty quickly that I wasn’t passionate about any of my options. I was just bored! So instead of wasting more time and money doing something I didn’t enjoy I decided to pursue my passion and go to cosmetology school.
This was probably one of the hardest things ever, tons of girls, drama and 8 hour days for almost two years. The sayings about cosmotology school are definitley true, but I finally made it through thank heavens ha ha!
Right after cosmetology graduation my hubby and I moved to Logan and had our first baby Lainey May. She changed everything! Family is everything to me so the second I had her I knew a salon job wasn’t for me. I wanted to be at home as much as possible and be with my kids & B. Beautiful Artistry was born. It was the most perfect thing ever…
I started by just doing hair and makeup for some of the most amazing photographers ever. The more I worked the more I found myself drawn to what they were doing. At all the shoots I wanted to steal their cameras just for a second to see what they were seeing through their cameras. I have always loved photography, but I never ever thought it would be my job when I grew up.
One day the thought popped in my head…. why don’t you start doing photography? I talked to my hubby and of course he was supportive, so that year he bought me my very first DSLR. I learned all I could as fast as I could because lets be honest I am SUPER competitive and if I was going to do this I needed to learn and quick!
I did my very first senior shoot 3 years ago. I loved everything about it, the hair, makeup, posing, editing. I was hooked! After the shoot I was so eager to post what I had just done but for some reason even the thought made my stomach hurt. I knew it made sense and I knew I would love it but putting that part of myself out there for all the world to see and critique was one of the hardest decisions ever.
That decision to share my passion was one of the best things I have ever done and getting over the fear of what others may think was freeing and allowed me to continue progressing and building my business. I have made some of the most amazing and supportive friends I could have ever asked for.
The past year has kind of been a blur… From buying our first home, having our second little Avery Grace to everything in between I have been lucky enough to do things I never thought I would do… My dreams have come true and I get to do what I love everyday! I couldn’t be more blessed with the best job and best clients ever!
